Back to Blogs for the Week (3/21)

Hello!

This week I am doing a blog (as opposed to a vlog) because of some time constraints. We are conducting interviews during classes this week, so I will not have class time to film a vlog.

Just to catch up, although not much has happened in the last few weeks, I have started moving forward on my Final Product.

I have changed my plan (yet again), and am now planning on writing a comparative analysis of mental illness practices in American and Norwegian correctional systems, as well as how these practices affect the rate of recidivism. After talking with my mentor I have decided to focus on a few main sources as opposed to conducting a wider investigation. I also plan to try to submit it to a journal. The Journal of Student Research publishes high school research of all fields and might be the place to start.

I have begun gathering sources and will most likely find the few sources I want to look deeply at within the next few days. After that, I will take extensive notes/annotations over the sources, and from there I will begin writing. I plan to use the same format of citations in this writing that I have used in my past work.

There is still somewhat of a high-stress level, but I can feel it gradually reducing. While I love the ISM program, I am feeling the effects of attending school for 13 years and am very eager to be done. However, no matter how overwhelmed (or even unmotivated) I get I will push to the end!
