After this past weekend I have been able to narrow down to which topic I want to specialize in. I plan to look into the victimization of inmates and how the lack of treatment for this trauma affects the rate of recidivism. This will be a more effective way to build off of my research from last year, and a great way to keep the comparative aspect of law as well.

The more research I do the more I realize how the legislation and resources that are available aren't very effective (in my opinion). For example, the Prison Rape Elimination Act from 2003. What I have learned is that for any action to be taken, there already has to be actions taken (such as a formal report made), which can possible hinder the progress of it working. I plan to look more into this and if there's any ways it can be made more effective.

The main goal for this week is to submit for my top choice school. My deadline is in one week, and I still have a little ways to go. I can see my project formulating, and I am excited to see which route it takes.
